Rearranging...

After the deep clean of Atlas' tank yesterday, I did some rearranging. He has now gotten too big for the Exo Terra small reptile cave! It was kind of sad but it made me proud all at the same time. He still fits in his favorite hide, which is a Tortoise Shell hide; no idea what I'll do when he outgrows that one!

He kid of fumbled around a bit in the tank getting reoriented to where things were - I think he was most frustrated with the fact that his tunnel system was gone since his aspen got all changed out.

Do you find that your snakes 'notice' changes to their thank set up?

They do notice changes. First time I had a major viv cleanup and rearanged husbandry Naga had a 2-3 day period of more of hiding than usual, like a shorter "first acclimation" time. I left 1 hide unchanged to give him more security, and always do.
On later cleaning rearangements he has not shown hiding period again, but he explores a lot for a week or more: looks in all his hides and has to figure out which one he likes best this time.
Quite interesting they are, snakes.
