Regular vet Visits?

So it's this time of year again in our family: Annual checkups and vaccinations for the 4 legged members of this family.
And while I was scheduling vet appointments and driving the cat and dog around all over the place I was wondering if that's something that's done on snakes as well.

I've looked through the forums but haven't really found any information on this topic.

Do you recommend regular (annual) checkups for a snake pet, or do they need certain lab work done on a regular basis?

Or do you only take your snake to the vet if there's something acutely wrong and you need professional veterinary assistance right away?

Generally I only take a snake in if something seems to be wrong, but I do pick one snake, once a year, and have a fecal run....just in case something has made it into my collection. I've been doing this for eight years or so now and only once had anything show up (pinworms, not too hard to treat), but I'm glad I caught it before they became a problem.
