Regurge is Imminent??

Snow! Snow!
Ok...so I just fed chester (one f/t mouse fuzzy) and all went well. Until he tried to shove his fat self into the hide he appears to like best (A terra cotta pot). He only seems to like shoving himself thru the little hole on the bottom and not simply crawl under the lip (who knows why... :shrugs: ) This hasn't been a problem until now....He got his fat gut stuck in the hole...
So of course I panic and helped him back up and get out...it was very stressful for both of us. He appears to have lifted a few scales around the area that got stuck...it almost looks like lifted skin ( he just shed a week ago). Now he is very active in his viv---crawling around presumably looking for a new favourite hide ( i took out the pot so he wouldn't get stuck again).
Since I've handled the snot out of the poor guy, and stressed him out, can I expect a regurge? Will it happen today? What about the skin/scales? Do I worry about that, or just wait and see if they settle on their own?
I appologize for the length...detail is everything isn't it?
The other piece of info you need...I'm leaving tonite for a week. Do I need to bring in a babysitter to keep an eye on him (ie-call a vet if necessary?) or just leave him the heck alone?
Thanks for listening.....and advising.

Not necessarily imminent.

It depends on your snake. My pair of '03's--I could handle them all day after a meal and I'd be 100% confident I wouldn't get a regurge.

I've got a female '04 normal who puked on my last week because I moved her from one cage to the other.

Notch out a bigger hole in the pot, put it back into his cage, and leave him alone. Give it a smell tomorrow before you go and if you dont get the disgusting wiff of regurged mouse you should be okay.

I'd think the scales would be ok after the next shed.

I'm with Joe on this one. I hate to admit it but I've handled my '03 after meals and she's been fine as well. Doesn't mean it'll always be this way and I certainly am not going to push my luck. Each snake is different, but I have a good feeling about yours being ok.
IF he does regurge come back on here and read up on regurges if you aren't already familiar with them. I inadvertantly killed my son's snake by not being knowledgeable about regurges. I also didn't realize that most snakes can survive a regurge issue if dealt with properly, so try not to worry too much. There's a lot of good information on here to help get you through should the worst happen.
For now, focus on getting him a hide he can fit his fat, happy body into! LOL!

I personally use those mini cereal boxes for hides for the hatchlings. This way when they've got a meal, there's nothing hard and unforgiving there like a pot.

I use the coke fridge pack bottoms for hides for the bigger guys.

Did you put some other hide in place of the one you removed? He might be searching for a place to hide period. I'd put something in there. Even a half paper towel roll works great.
