it says on the left side, my name and blah blah blah, I would like to know what rep means and why I have only 4 with a green next to it and others have like 45?

Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.

It's to do with how long you've been here and how much you've posted but also to do with how many times your peers (aka other members of the forum) have clicked on your scale button to say...'hey, I like what you said in that thread , it was good' or 'thanks, that was a really good tip'.
