New member
the local petshop near me said that it can get reptibark in is that the same as aspen or beech chippings???
and i am getting an 8 liter bag does anyone have any idea what sort of price that should be?

Repti-Bark isn't the same as Aspen or Beech chippings. It is made from the bark of Fir trees. I've never used it myself so perhaps someone can help you out there.

I use it for my Ball Pythons and Carpet Python. It is fine for Corns too. It does hold moisture and it may get too humid in your enclosure if it's not well ventilated. It's a good substrate I have no complaints about it. I just really like the Aspen and use it for my Corns and Cal. King Snake.

well i'll give it a try there is no harm in trying but i prefer aspen so i'll have 2 travel even further to get it!!! (thats the problem with living in the middle of nowhere)
do you think that livefoods would deliver chippings with my pinkies?

yes definetly go with aspen... repti bark is WAY more expensive ranging about 8 bucks a bag i believe.. I used it for my BP because of how it held moisture and was thick enough to keep him off the glass near tha under tank heater.. aspen is cheaper, better looking an overall better.. definetly go with that.. if you can't get it around you, maybe you could send some1 a money order an they mail ya a big package of it.. shipping wouldnt be much because its kinda light..

Yes, Livefood.co.uk do deliver. The have an online ordering form and you just type in your details and things and you get the stuff the next day. They also have aspen.

I love Reptibark, but it has one draw back, COST!!! YOu get a bag with half as much as a bag of aspen but it costs 3 times as much!

I sometimes splurge though, it looks so good!

not to mention

I find repti bark molds. And yes I clean my cages A LOT. But still I find it molds. Especially in my tarantula tanks where the humidity must be kept higher than corns.
I dislike it big time.
