"reptile rugs/mat?"

Hopefully a quick question:

If you have one snake in a display tank, what is/are the bad points on using a mat, I have two, that I clean/dry and alternate.

You guys don't seem to use them. Problems on the horizon?

Thank You very much in advance!

I think most people don't use them because they are harder to clean. With Aspen, etc. you can spot clean the tanks. With cage carpet, you have to totally clean each time the snake poos. If a person has a bunch of snakes, it's nice to be able to spot clean daily and then totally disinfect the tanks every 2 weeks or so.
