Reptile Story in Our Local Paper

Hey Taceas, did you make it down there?

Usually my husband and I take some of our collection down there to share with the public and help educate them. This year things got a bit crazy and we got the dates mixed up. I did go down on Sunday to visit with everyone and see what had been added to their collections. It's a really great group of people, even though there are a few of them that always seem to get me to do things I haven't planned on. I got talked into holding my first green tree python this year and I'm not to proud to say I was sweating bullets. It's a bit of an uncomfortable feeling with the teeth they have. *LOL* In the past I've held a retic, an anaconda and found out what kind a temperment a scrub python usually has after my friend already had it wrapped around me. Lucky for me the scrub was having a good day. :p I got some really great pics this year and as soon as I get them on a photo hosting site I can post the link to them.

It's always nice to see a wide variety of animals as well as seeing some people touch a snake for the first time...and like it! We've got a great reptile "family" that does this each year and we have a blast doing it.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to make it..

Living up here in this hole in Gibson County, we don't get the paper or watch local tv, so didn't know it was going on until I read the article. Would have been fun to go to though. =D

Hope everyone who went learned something interesting and the animals made an impact on those who are skeptical about reptiles as pets.

=)

Gotta remember....

I live in that hole too. *LOL* I drive through Patoka everyday on my way home from work. If my head would have been on straight (and I would have had my date right) I would have dropped you a line to ask you if you were going. Somehow I got it in my head that the show was this coming weekend. I can tell you the dates for next years Reptile Invasion are June 12 and 13 so mark that down.

We've got to get together sometime and do a little herp talkin'.:D

Heh, drop a line any day.

I'm not working at the moment while I wait for my wedding to draw ever closer (1 month and counting). So I'm around home mostly. Start looking for a job after we get back from Montana.

I thought you lived in Frisco, how'd you be driving through Patoka on your way home from work? =P Work in Vincennes?

I'm sure you're acquainted with Stacey Cundiff from Harp's Pets. I bought my motley from her over a year ago. The same motley that escaped on me for 8 months, found her outside, and laid 13 beautiful eggs 10 days ago. =D

I'll probably go next year, sounds like fun. =)
