REPTILINKS

Has anyone tried these sausages for snakes? They are pricier than frozen mice, but my wife won't object to having these in her freezer.;)

I haven't tried them. What about the snake food bothers your wife? Maybe you can think of a compromise? I just remind people if they have any meat it's the same, chicken corpse or mouse. Maybe if the look bothers her you can put them in a special container for a sort of out of sight out of mind fix?

I don't think my wife is in the minority here. We in the hobby sometimes forget how most people view our interests. Most people object to the idea of mice and rats in the freezer no matter how well disguised. My wife has patiently shared her home with me and my dogs, cats, birds, snakes, & fish for 45 years. I don't mind making a few concessions.:wavey:

I get where your wife is coming from. When my son got his first corn I made sure a mini freezer was up and running before Theo came home .I have no issue with chicken and beef etc just not keen on mice being in with my dinner x

I understand. I still hate feeding mice, especially since I used to own gerbils and really love rodents, mice and rats included. I'm watching this thread because if reptilinks really are just as healthy, I might be tempted to switch.

It makes me sad when I hear that reptile people raise their own rodents. It's not sad as long as they are treated well, but I've heard some comments that definitely lead me to believe that they are not happy healthy mice and rats leading stimulating lives :/

That being said, I've worked in zoos and sanctuaries and fed a lot worse to animals before (worse meaning cuter or cooler and therefore sadder to use for food). And zoos go through plenty of mice too with all of their birds (and herps). So it really is just part of owning carnivores.
