Registered? Do i need to?
my avatar is the first pic of my 6 month old calafornian okeetee! (i havent quite got the hang of uplaoding them from sites yet)

Sorry to pop your bubble Xavier but there's nothing such as a Californian Okeetee. Okeetee cornsnakes go by 2 definitions depending on who you ask. They're either a locality cornsnake from a particular part of SC or a specially bred look based on the ideals of that above mentioned locality cornsnake.

Seeing as cornsnakes are an Eastern species you either misunderstood the name they gave you or someone misrepresented it. Okeetee localities come from Florida and Okeetee named for their looks are just that, corns named for a particular look. Just calling it an okeetee would be all you need. :)

:Whispers: Pssst, locality okeetees come from South Carolina. :)

LOL Joe, YEP they most certainly do, Jasper County to be exact. I know better than to write replies this late at night.....or should I say early morning.

Thanks for the catch!! :)

there are california kingsnakes but not cornsnakes. Where do you live? I read on here about a breeders cornsnake collection getting loose in california

Then the breeder you bought from is either:

A) Extremely ignorant
B) A scammer

Either way, unfortunately there's no such thing as a Californian Okeetee. Princess is right, Okeetees are one of two things depending on how you believe.

Either they're a locality cornsnake from the okeetee hunt club in Jasper County, South Carolina, or they're a 'normal' cornsnake with rich vibrant reds and oranges with very thick black saddle borders.

I'd love to send your 'breeder' an e-mail asking him just what a Californian Okeetee is. Care to oblige?

This sounds like a BOI post if there hasn't been some sort of miscommunication. Either way, don't judge us all by your one experience please. Most of us here would never scam anyone and will help you in any way that we can.

cheers, i really want to find out what breed she is because of her unusual dark purple saddles

He looks like a normal to me, but the pics are a little blurry. You might try seeing if you could snap a clearer picture of him.
