Scratching

My Toothless shed about 3wks ago. He hasn't gone into the blue again or anything. But his is rubbing his nose and body repeatedly on the glass and the rough vine. He is scratching or itching himself. Is this normal? I've had him for almost 2yrs and I've only seen him do this to start a shed. Have I just missed this in the past?
