Securing a Cage

All the do-it-yourselfers on here. Here's my situation. I have a 20 gallon long tank where the lid slides in, has grooves on the side and you just slide the lid on, however there is nothing to lock the lid in place. The snake cannot push the lid up however could he could possibly wedge himself in between the lid and the side of the tank which could cause the lid to start sliding open.

Is there anything I could use to lock the lid in place without having to resort to duct tape?

i have one that is very simmilar it seems.. is there not a hmm lets try to find a word for it. a TAB that sticks out at the back where you can from there place a lock? i baught a 50gal breeder reptile tank which looks like yours where it slides in and then a tab slides thru a hole in the back and i put a padlock there.. for the snakes safety and anyone elses that might try to open it... if this isnt the case then you could always place a small peice of electircal tape at the back.. so its easy for you to open but the snake cant.. if this doesnt help.. sorry

I really like that type of lid so I built a custom cage like that. What I use to keep the front of the lid down is a rock. I have two panels that slide out and the only spot for escape is the long front edge. I center a large piece of quartz crystal toward the front of each panel. That is more than enough to keep my 6' mama from escaping.
