Had her to the vet's again today for her check, the respiratory prob is ok, but she still wasn't feeding. The vet suggested trying her with a rat pup, which I tried tonight, she went straight for it, I am so pleased. After six week's of not feeding she has started again, but I forgot to ask the vet how long I should give her on the rat pup's before going back to her normal size mouse. anyone help please? The vet also said she could feel something inside which could be developing egg's. Not fertile.:)

If you want, you can feed her rats for the rest of her life. Many people find rats far better a prey item for whatever reason. I feel either or myself.

But if you want to go back to mice you can switch her over as soon as you'd like. If she hasn't eaten for six weeks don't feed anything too big, but at the next feeding it will be fine to try an adult mouse if thats what she normally eats, or a rat scented mouse if she hesitates and wants rats still. But if all she will eat is rats, then byall means, fed that thing rats! :) good luck!

thank's bmm, she certainly seemed happy with the rat pup, back to her normal self of striking for her food, as it was put into the viv.:D

I got a couple rat pups off a friend once. My corns seemed to relish them.

If I didn't think rats were so cute, I would switch all my snakes to rats and breed rats for feeders. But as we whack mice I can't imagine whacking rats.
