hi all .i just had ruby out for her daily handle, she is in her blue phase, she is very docile, should you still handle her when she is like this...its been 2 and 1 half weeks since last shed,,is this quicker than norm or is it acceptable..she is now 18 to 20 inch long and as thick as my ring finger.

That seems kinda soon to be shedding again, to me. I could be wrong though... But Sienna's closests sheds have only been 3 weeks apart, and she's growing very quickly. So that seems soon to me.

I normally leave Sienna alone as much as possible when she is in blue, but she too is very docile during that time. I just figure its better not to agitate her when she must be uncomfortable (I know how crabby the rattlesnakes get when they are in blue phase, so I figure Sienna is just being very tolerant). Thats what I do anyway, I'm sure you'll get lots of other responses, hope this helps!

lol, yes, 3 and a half weeks sounds much better. Hope the shed goes well! :)

Monthly is OK for a hatchling. As an adult, a monthly shed may indicate problems such as parasites or skin damage.

perfect shed

she is still young i only got her in december. she just shed i watched her she was at it quite a while, once she was half way down it took no time at all, mind you she has really messed up the substrate in her viv, she looks happy now, she can get back in to the normal feeding pattern now.....as always thanks for advice

Excellent! Glad her shed went well and that you were able to catch her in the act! Congrats!
