So i just got back from the vet and they probbed little Nagini, and the vet said that she could only find one pocket, or something, so she is a he! But, because Nagini is so small, only 6g that I sould bring she, he, it, back it a couple months... Now I gotta think of a new name it she is a he... but slight chance, and I am crossing my fingers! But thats ok if she is a boy, cause I want a lav female anyway, if I can find one.

Good memory! I dont know what I will do with Nagini now, for now, iwill keep his/her name cause the vet wasnt really sure... well, for now, she is still going to be my girl until it can be confirmed for sure. Stilll looking into name possibilities.

Male or female, they have 2 sides to probe. Your little one is too little to probe safely, in my opinion. If you don't know anyone who can pop, then I'd wait until your snake is quite a bit bigger before having it probed again.

I asked the vet if they do popping, but they wouldnt because it was 'unreliable' although her responce was just as unreliable too... I googled vets in calgary and there were very few that would even sex snakes. I think ill let Nagini settle down for a month or 2 and i'll see what happens after that. I sitll want to maek sure that she will eat something this friday too.

Ah, well, sorry you're dissapointed. I bought a 'female' snow a couple of years ago with very specific breeding plans and 15 months later I probed 'her' and got a little p'ed off. These things happen. I'd wait until snakie is 6 months old at least and then post some photos of his tail on the forum and let us sport a guess as to his actual gender.

Good luck, he's a gorgeous snake all the same.

Im not dissapointed in the snake, I love my snake!! i couldnt really care what the sex is, I just like hte name Nagini, so if she really does turn out to be a boy, Ill give the name to my next snake and Ill make sure she is a female b4 I get it. I would actually like to get a pair of Rich's Candy Cane corn hatchlings, but probably next year when I have more $$$. :)

Welcome to my world! Although it did take me over a year to figure it out. I never bothered to probe my amel until he decided to stop eating for 3 months. Figured she was not what she appeared to be.....and a probe proved me right! I'll be breeding him to my Aztec Okeetee het amel next year. Maybe little aztec amels?????
