Hi! I just finally moved into my apartment and got everything set up. Eden and Gahenna ( my sand boa) got all settled in and they began to be active at night again and get handled. Well, my fiancee underestimated the strength of a curious 4 foot ( yeah, Eden grew almost 2 feet since I talked to you, is that normal by the way?) Ghost Corn snake
The problem: an excapee in an open concept apartment filled with ideal hiding spots with boxes all over the place? I've tried the flour thing, my snake hasn't crossed the lines. I left mice out in almost every room. Nothing....

did you feed it right before it escaped? If so it'll take a while before it goes looking for food agian. hope you find it soon :)

My advice is to keep looking, and keep looking at the samething/place 3 4 5 times... I've stared right at my escaped snake before and never spotted it until the 5th time I looked at him 8-P

Yeah
What I plan on doing is cleaning all the crap off the floor, looking in shelves and cabinets and then do the whole night thing with paper, traps, etc. I just really hope that it will come out or that I can access where it is hiding.

I hate to ask this but is there any chance your little darling has a little nook or cranny where they could slither into another apartment? I live in an apartment type situation myself and I will be ever wary of trying to curtail escape attempts before they happen. It's bad enough my gossip harpy neighbors spread lies that my Scorpions and Tarantulas escape on a regular basis.

I've checked the vents and my apartment is a closed system thank god, the only nook or cranny is the door which is maybe a 2 millimeter opening.

Keep an eye on the toilet. Since corns drink so much, thats a good place to stake out. Every time one of mine escspes, thats normally where I find them. Or in the the bathtub looking for water left from the last shower or bath. You may want to try putting out a water dish somewhere and staking that out too. Try not to feak out too much. I once had a female that was missing for about 2 months. She was a little skinny and dehydrated when I found her in the bathtub, but she seemed fine. let us know what happens.

Well I heard that sometimes putting a dark box with holes and a pinky in it in a warm spot gets them. Where should I place said box though? By the cage? Kitchen? Laundry room

Well It's been almost three weeks. I've put out so many traps with food and stuffs and well... none of them have even been touched. No sign of Eden anywhere.... Is it possible that Eden is still alive? it's been 24 days without food and no response to hides with food in them.

24 days is no problem at all. They can manage weeks. Your in London so i assume it's pretty cold this time a year. Your snake may even be hibernating somewhere and show up next spring. Don't give up hope. There good hunters anyway.

Maybe but it's 24 degrees Celcius in my apartment and I thought they only hibernated for a few weeks... anyways, that'll make it easier to find, right?
