A new snake to a new home will be pretty active as they are just getting used to their new homes and will "calm down". Snakes in general aren't all that active but this varies depending on species/an individual snake. But in general my Corn spends 75% of her time in hides, coming out from time to time to check out the scene. I'd say he is getting comfortable and this is a good thing, a hiding snake in a secure hide is probably a happy snake. A snake always on the move and/or never hiding is more likely stressed (think of pet store snake viv, they are usually bunched up in a corner with no hide).
