Snake ate thawed mouse tail first, problem?

Nope, nope. He'll be fine. :} I have quite a few butt munchers, myself, and have never had any problems!

Boo butt munches too. His first feed he took head-first but ever since then it's been a constant stream of "heads are icky, I wanna eat them last!" The only issue I've had with it (and it's really only an issue for me, not him) is the trouble he sometimes has with arms that are sticking out.

Yes, totally normal and fine. He is going to be fine! I have so many snakes that seem to be butter munchers, too. Even though, they are already dead (Pre-Killed or Frozen Thawed). The mice still have that "somebody help me" look on their face when it happens.

I know, I'm a sick puppy! ;)

uggggh, you just reminded me of that story about someone's hatchling eating a LIVE pinky butt-first... :(

"shudder" i read that same story pepper!! oh the screeching.

Sorry to drudge up bad memories! :headbang: I would never never do that! I'm firmly against feeding live, unless you don't have a choice and the snake won't eat F/T or F/K. I have even included in my TERMS, that if you feed live, to a snake you purchase from me, that any and all guarantees are voided!

Sorry again!

That was mine. It was a last resort at getting a non-feeder hatchling to eat, and one of the reasons I stopped and never did it again. Mine now eat f/t or they don't eat. End of.

Ugh I had the same thing happen. We were trying to get a non-feeder to feed and the snake wouldn't and felt so bad for the pinky so I threw it in with my ratsnake thinking "He's so mean he'll kill it fast." Uhhh yeah no he just gupled it down alive and it was screaming the whole time. *shudders*

Anyway about the original post, we fed all of them last night and I would say 4/10 butt munched. So don't worry ours do it all the time.

No problem. I completely understand; I'm nearly at that point with Mouse, tbh... nothing I try seems to entice her to eat, or even NOTICE there's food near her. It was just your uh... VIVID description.
