question about a ball python (sorry this is a corn forum)

i bought a ball python recently and the woman who sold him to me said he was just bred so he hasn't been eating. Also she fed him live rats. When should I expect him to start eating again, and low long should i wait before giving up frozen and switching to live rats b/c i know thay are picky eaters and will starve themselves. ive been offering him frozen once a month.
 
I do not know anything about BP but I would recommend all non corn questions be placed in the general chit chat forum.
