Snake falling from top of cage.

I've owned this snake for over a year, his previous owner had him for a year also I believe. In the past month, as the temperature has risen because of the season shift my snake has become more active.

He is so active though to the point where he climbs to the top of his tank and crawls along the rim many times a day. This was not a problem when he was smaller, but now he is too large and falls down often from this height (40cm). The snake is about 70cm in length and 2cm thick. I've seen him fall a few times this week.

He doesn't appear to be hurt and will often attempt to crawl up there immediately after falling.

Should I be concerned about him getting hurt/should I redesign the tank set up? I've added a thick rope bridge near the open space for him to attach to, but he does not always chose to use it. :nope:

If your snake has deep enough substrate and nothing hard he can land on, then the falls shouldn't hurt him. To be sure though, some people use either caulk, or fitted wood strips to fill that space so that their snakes can't get into it at all.

That would be perfect! Thanks, that's a great idea. I could very easily do that. :)
