Snake flipping itself around...

I was cage cleaning today and hadnt handled my ghost in a while, so I took her. I know they can become uncomfortable with handling when you havent handled for a while, but she was doing this thing where I lifted her up and she started whipping the rest of her body around. I let her calm down and them handled her a little. She didnt strike, she didnt rattle....I cant figure out if she doesnt want to be handled or if she is uncomfortable with being picked up because she is large.

She about 500 grams now, definitely have to pick her up with 2 hands, she seemed to calm down a little.

I was just wondering if the whipping around was some sort of body language for, leave me the heck alone?

MM.. I've had that happen before. It's more of a thing like they feel unsafe, off balance maybe. Always use the two hands like you mentioned so they feel stable and secure. She probably just had an off moment. Scared at first and you said she settled down.

Nothing abnormal, just a nervous girl. =)

Thats my two cents anyway!

My snake has done this a couple of times too. One time it was when I was taking him out while someone unfamiliar to him was in the room, and I think the other time I had woken him up which he was understandably not happy about. :p He usually calms down once I get a grip on him with both hands so part of it may be that she felt unsupported, or maybe she was taking a nap. ;)

I think it's sort of a manic reaction.....this is the motion they would use to quickly move away from something....think of it like when you pick up a small animal and it moves its legs really fast like it's trying to run....
