Snake Gender & Behavior

I have two questions about snake sex.

What is palpating eggs? I saw it in a post and don't know what this is.

And I also saw in a post someone talking about tank-cruising being a more male oriented behavior. My corn is a male and he does this but I still don't completely know why and now I think there is something you guys know that I don't know. So fill me in about this tank cruising stuff? There are times when all he does is sit in his hide, but then there are times when he is all over the place 24 hours a day.. I mean I don't even see how thats possible, if its an attempt to escape I would think he would lose hope and give up after an hour or two. NOT ALL DAY LONG.

If you know of any other gender-oriented behavior, I would be very interested to hear about it.

Palpating for eggs, refers to feeling a females belly very gently to see if you can feel eggs :)

Males cruising their tanks in the spring, is an indication of them looking for lurve, as it is the breeding season after all ;) They will also sometimes go off their food at this time, as they have other things on their mind.

Hope that helped,

just one more thing that humans and corns have in common!
to males finding the right girl is more important than food

:rofl::rofl:, good one ;)

Apart from mating season etc. I've never heard of any other differences in behaviour between genders :shrugs:

So i guess that would make corns more appealing huh....they only chase tail(ok bad pun) for a few weeks of the year.
