Snake in blue?

Hi there,
I have a normal '09 hatchling with brown eyes. He apparently shed on March 5 (before I got him). He has not shed since. I fed him 2 days ago, and today went to pick him up. I noticed that his eyes are not quite as clear as they normally are, but they are not "blue" He kept tagging the glass, and when I had him out he was acting a bit strange. He seems very defensive.
The only thing I can think of is that he is in blue and starting his shed and can't see very well? I'm just confused by the lack of change in his eyes.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Amanda here is the break down of the molting cycle

There are 4 basic phases to the shedding process.
1) Pre shed - We cannot always tell a snake is in pre shed(esp. with white morphs) but some signs are the translucent belly scales, hiding more, grumpier, rough feeling skin, eye color slightly off and skin color slightly dull. The snake knows when it is about to shed and may or may not change it’s behaviour.
2) Blue – In this phase or stage the eyes get cloudy or "blue" due to the secretions which loosen the eye caps and skin, the skin also takes on a light or discoloured look, if it has not already and if it has already dulled it may dull even more. Your snake may be really grumpy/aggressive or nervous during this time as they cannot see very well during this phase.
3) Clear up - This is the phase prior to the actual act of shedding. Your snake’s eyes and skin will clear back up and return to their normal appearance.
4) Shed – This last stage is when your snake will shed it’s old skin, revealing the new skin and the latest maturation in their color and patterning.

So it is possible your snake may be going through the molt/shed cycle again, esp. if it is a fairly small snake as they shed more frequently.

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much Tisha for clarifying that! I figure he is either in pre-shed, or he is in Blue.
I can't wait to see him shed!
