Snake Went Midevil on Mice!!!

Ok, I was feeding Ren one mouse a week when I first got him in June...hubby said he still seemed hungry afterwards, so I bumped up to 2 feeders (one after the other in one feeding) once a week with no problems (no regurgitation,etc.) I usually try to feed every Saturday or Sunday, but this week waas busy and I figured it wouldn't kill him/her to wait another day or two. Well, let me tell you...s/he killed the heck out of the first one (actually drew blood...a first for him) and repeated this with the second...I mean s/he got really mean with them. What a mess it was...mousey blood all over (not to mention s/he squeezed so hard they not only defecated and wet themselves, but they bled out their mouths! Afterwards, Ren went in search for more. There is no way I want to try to do 3 feeders a week...I wouldn't want him/her to regurge or get over weight. I have never seen him/her been this aggresssive towards prey. I'm wondering if this is because I deviated from his/her feeding schedule. I had to give Ren a few minutes to calm down before I could pick him/her up to put back in the viv. Anyone else had a similar experience? This is NOT an aggressive snake when handled...quite the opposite, in fact often sometimes shy around those s/he doesn't know. This incident just really caught me off guard!
 
Switch to bigger mice? Or perhaps feed more mice but then smaller? Or feed 3 times with smaller prey? Perhaps she's missing some vitamines and tries to remedy that.
 
Do you feed f/t or live, and are you feeding one each day? I feed multiple food sources in one feeding and then leave them alone for 3 days to digest.
 
I feed my Pyro two pinky mice a feeding, and I feed him every Sunday and Wednesday. I have never had a problem with regurgitation and anything like that. But is the amount I feed him healthy?

I don't think I can go much bigger without feeding baby rats and they seem a bit too big for the size of my snake. What kind of vitamins could s/he be lacking?

I feed live mice. I feed once a week, two mice...in other words, I feed a mouse and afterit's gone down, I feed another. I also do the same as far as leaving him/her alone to digest...I wait 'til Ren poops!
 
Sounds about right for feeding. Have you tried f/t? It's just a little safer for them once they get to the size where they have teeth, like hoppers. If you are feeding two, and they either barely leave a lump, or in a day or so they're out and looking for food, I'd go up in size.
Krista: Yours sounds more like power feeding. How old is your snake? If it's not real big, feeding every 5 days is about right, but you should be feeding about every 7 days if the snake has some size. Every 7-14 days for an adult.
 
ive been looking it up for you, this happens quite a lot when fed on live stock and after they eat there in attack mode for a little. wile have you tryed f/t they usually dont even bother constricting them. wouldnt worry about any feeding schedule, as a healthy snake in extream circumstance (dont try it) have been known to go upto 12 month with out eating.
 
Just to update you....

Last feeding (last week) I let the snake calm down for a few minutes before attempting to pick him/her back up...was making me antsy as she seemed to be in that "predatory" mode mentioned above. Once s/he decided the container I feed him/her in was empty and it was time to explore, I picked him/her up with no problems.

Just that one incident kinda' knocked me for a loop!
