Sneezing (underwater)

He's blue and since he's been hiding a lot (and not out and about pooping) I decided to handle him a tub of water (which, btw, he seemed to love). I let him go to see if he'd freak out (something I never do) and he decided to go under and "float". A few seconds later he moved his head, but sneezed right under the surface. lol Then he sneezed a second time as soon as he popped his head out... then pooped about a second later.

Anyway, since this is a first (that I know of) and he hasn't sneezed since (can't hear any signs of congestion), but if I hold him to my ear, I heard a couple FAINT clicks, timed far apart (what's that?).

And though sneezing under water, was VERY cute, I know nothing about respiratory problems, what should I be watching for in the next week or so? Anything?

I don't even know if it was a real sneeze. It looked like he just didn't know he couldn't breathe under water, inhaled and quickly blew the water out his nose.

spirit, when i bath my male he does the same thing, very faint clicking sounds and he too sneezes, well it actually sounds more like wheezing, its just where they go underwater and the water goes up their nostrils, lol, it is very cute and at first i freaked out thinking it could be an RI too.
when i shower and water or soap goes up my nose that makes me sneeze 4 or 5 times in a row. lol

My adult male does the same thing after a very long drink or a soak in his water bowl. I would't be 2 worried spirit it sound normal after a bath that theirs a few clicks.

You do ask the best questions Spirit. I don't recall seeing you ask one that has been asked before, in the history of snakes, lol.

The best questions, or the strangest? LOL @ "in the history of snakes"

Well sadly, I have absolutely no fear of looking dumb. *sigh* lol

You give out solid advice spirit, so don't worry about it. :)

LOL! Thanks, C. ;)

Brownie: Many would argue. Remember when I asked "How do you boil a rock"? LOL! Aaahhhhh. Good times... good times. lol

Well they don't really "BOIL"! They just sit on the bottom on a pot (on an element) surrounded by boiling WATER! Unlike pasta that dances in the water... I mean why do you have to put it on the stove? Why not just add boiling water to the rock?

Yeah, see? It made sense at the time...

Bah.

You know...you can make soup from Rocks...

Rock Soup
3 or 4 smooth, clean rocks (about
the size of a medium potato)
1 large onion, diced
3 large tomatoes, diced
3 carrots, cleaned and cut up
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup hominy
1 stalk celery, cut up
Salt and pepper

Place rocks in 3-quart kettle and cover with water. Bring water to boil and add remaining ingredients. Boil until vegetables are all done. Take rocks out of kettle and wash and save for future use.

Makes a delicious and economical dish.

What in the world is "hominy"?

In music, hominy are the tones that complement the "melony"... :sobstory:

Sorry, couldn't resist.

In any case, hominy is processed corn; grind it up, and you've got that Dixie delicacy known as "grits".
