some rehab questions

I just aquired an adult male from my wife's co-worker, who had adopted it from a local pet store...looks like someone couldnt care for it and brought in to them, who in turn adopted it out...The snake was extremely thin when she got it, but she managed to feed it fuzzy and hopper sized mice in the month or so since she had it...I have it quarantined of course and I havent ever had to rehab such a thin snake so any info would be appreciated...I'll take some pics if necessary, but just found out the cam batteries are dead :( so it will be a day or two...It has the build you'd see in a healthy tiger rat....thin, upside down 'V"...He's alert, drank a lot of water, and resting quietly away from everybody, really a nice looking snake...Going to have a fecal done, anything else I should check?...and what would be a good course of feeding; this is a 4' snake, just real thin...Thanks all...Chris

I would give it a medium or large mouse once a week.

No, no, no.

I would just continue feeding it small prey items until you are sure it is okay, then step up the size, but very gradually.

I would go ahead and feed it a day or two after it defecates it's last meal, rather than going by any set schedule.

hmm i agree with amanda
have had an anorexic corn before, it does happen. but feed it fuzzy's for a lttle bit longer and gradually take steps up to normal size mice, if it refuses a normal mouse or regurges then leave it for a bit then start over with fuzzy's.
he/she should be eating well in no time.
good luck
