watch out for those sellers

If you go to shows look at the price tags and label telling you what the snake is.
I was at the show in mississauga in november and corns were not going cheap at this show for some reason, I was scanning over some great looking hatchling ghost cornsnakes. There was about 4 there at this one tabel, and the biggest one of them was labelled as a grey rat snake with a price tag of 40$, while the other ghosts were labelled ghost corns at 100$. (they were late 01 hatchlings)
Now guess what, I ended up getting the mostcalm, ravenous feeding ghost cornsnake in the world for 40$ (Canadian) and he's turning out to be real nice.

Grey ratsnakes are great pets. They can tame down just like a cornsnake. Some of the other ratsnake's natural phases just blow away any red ratsnake phases. Like the chinease stinking beauty's, the mandarin ratsnakes, Red headed ratsnakes. Absolutly georgous.

Boy! I missed out on the fun!

I love to do this, hope someone does something like this again! Just for the record, I guessed before I read the other post, I guessed the second picture as the corn snake, because of the pattern on the head. I did not know the species of the first though. I will have to learn to check my post sooner, I love to do things like this. I also like to take the snake quizes that I find. I hope someone will do this again sometime.. Thanks

Thanks Taylor

I will, I have always loved all snakes, I love to see Black snakes in my area. I saved one from the place where I worked last year. I took care of fed. inmate ladies preg. they were deathly afraid of a pair of 3 plus foot Black Rat Snakes. The maintence man killed one of the pair before I got to work that day. All because they were afraid of them. That evening the other one came out hunting, she/he was climbing up a post, hunting. The girls freaked, it was just about dusk. I gently took a long stick, since I didn't have a snake stick with me I had to improvise. (can't spell) :) Any way, I applied light pressure to hold him while I caught him behind the head (I didn't want bit) I then put him in a five gallon bucket, and took him home and released him back into the wild. I just wish I could have saved his mate/friend. The girls needless to say, some were in awe, and some thought I was weird/crazy! I don't work there now. But I will go out of my way to save any snake I can!

Look at the dates of the posts in this thread. The original poster was the last surviving Civil War vet. Of course, he's been dead for some time now...
