Stomach Virus

Haya Tha'baan

my little worm
Not my snake...mine...I've been having some stomach problems...not serious symptoms, just bad headaches, occasional fever, and puking...it's really not that much and the symptoms are far and few between. I had to call off work today because of puking my entire days worth of food and feeling dizzy with a bad headache. Sooo my point being, I certainly don't have salmonella, but could I possibly catch any kind of stomach bug from my snake? I wash my hands before and after, but during, I do let her slither on my face.

I just want to make sure because I'm running out of reasons why I'm sick since my stomach isn't usually that sensitive. Otherwise, I guess I just picked up a weird, inconsistent bug.

Thanks!

If this is happening off and on see your Doc it may not be a virus and I doubt its from your snake though letting them slither on your face while cute could cause salmonella infection as they do slither through their poo. Hope you feel better soon stomach yuckies are the worst.

are you SURE it's not salmonella? My hubby got symptoms in Nov. They were on and off and in feb had a colonoscopy and biopsys showed he did in fact have salmonella ... his previous were neg only a He took a very strong antibiotic for 7 days and seems to be free of tummy issues!

I had to talk to the health department today because his case had to be reported. I was told today that the case is FINALLY closed! woohoo!

Well I'm not having any problems on the other end...This is just my second case of spewing in...I think over a week. It's just not too common for me. So my symtoms are head ache (which seem to be pretty consistent anyway) then a couple of times with bad stomach aches and vomiting feeling a bit unbalanced too. *shrug*

I think your headache and dizziness is dehydration so try to sip a steady flow of gatorade or pedialyte for the next few days. I had salmonella and let me tell you it was 2 weeks of non stop wretching vommiting and diarrhea not on and off at all. It took a month for me to be able to eat normal and was the worst thing ever. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy...or would I, lol!!
