Has anyone ever done this, and did your snake like it? Are there any concerns about doing this in a viv?

If it was good and secure, maybe, but I see a suction cup. When that gives way, the string goes slack, and there's a chance the snake could become entangled in a knot. That could cut off circulation or kill the animal. I'd use something thicker and less prone to tangling. I recently purchased a roll of 1/4" soaker hose from Home Depot plumbing dept. It's soft, but strong and waterproof. Not sure how you'd attach it in an aquarium, but I'm planning on using it as vines in a wooden enclosure.

if the vive is a plastic tote, you could drill through the sides and thread the rope or string the hose on string going out and back through the walls, no suction cups to fail

I kind of like this idea. I've wondered about an 'exercise wheel' to help a snake tone up...

nancyg that is exactly what I did in my viv! I threaded it through some of the side air holes of my tote. I don't have my snake yet but I want it to have some fun when it gets here!
