So... I have been talking to my local reptile shop (reptile specialists, in Tucson), and have been to their shop many times checking out their animals. I always liked the place, and trusted it so I asked them about their breeding projects. As it turns out they had a large female BP that had not bred, and they could use my male spider BP to "get it done" so to speak.

I brought the spider over, and the owner checked him out, wrote a reciept, and took him to the back. I got some rats and went home.

The reason I put this here is because even though I have been going over there for 1.5 years, and trust them I worry about my little boy. Has anyone ever done this before? What are your thoughts? I hope I don't get shut down here lol :punch:

Just let me down softly if it was a bad idea. Hes been over there for a little bit now, they feed him weekly, and I check him out often as I want. But still, hes not home with me... :/ I get the pick of the litter tho! if anything takes.

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's basically just a breeding loan, and you didn't have to ship him halfway across the country!! :)

The one thing I would have done is get a written guarantee on a replacement or $$ reimbursement if anything was to happen to him in their care.

I'd also worry about the arrangements. But then again, I'm very anal about this stuff. What happens if he gets injured or dies? Are you receiving any compensation? Do you get any of the babies?
