hi folks,

I was wondering if i could use pebbles as a substrate for my snakes as it looks real nice and would be easy to clean?

but the only thing i have been thinking is the fact that they probably dont keep in the heat to well and this may be a problem

anybody got any thoughts on this?

Easy to Clean???

I think they would be a PAIN to clean. The urine and feces would get all over them and you would have to take them all out wash them, dry them, then put them back in. I personally think aspen is a better substrate.

ah well then, ill just leave them in my 1 1/2 foot tank and go out and buy some neon tetras for it.

just more animals to add to my list of pets hehe

hey bu5t4
you could pop in to your local garden shop and get some large bark muich, you know the stuff they put on flower beds to stop the weeds coming thought ,then give it aa wash before use ,u can get a 25kilo bag for£3-5

thats good... i may try that as im using aspen just now and it costs a fiver per bag but its quite a big one.

guess that will do for the mean time.

I like to use coconut bark, it is sooo easy to spot clean and does not smell. It also holds humidity better than some of the other substrates I've tried. Though it is a little more expensive than aspen. If anyone knows where I can get it CHEAPER, let me know!!!!:D
