so today i went swim at my local creek/river

hard to say which as its some where in between

we have had a ton of rain lately and the water is not only fast but extremely cold

the water was fast enough i could barely stay in place

anyways while taking a dip a baby copper head ran out within inches of my face.

strangely i didnt really get scared it was only about the size of a hatchling

so i pulled myself out and examined it for just a bit as it swam below my feet

so i realize its freezing and i am wondering how was this snake surviving in the water. i would suspect they would leave the shore area hen temperatures were this low?

the obvious thought is that he was not in the water b4 hand but I have my doubts

so thats todays story

this year i have ran into copper heads and rattle snakes but no Colubrids :eatsmiley
