tank cleaning question

Hey guys just picked up a zilla critter cage off Craigs list. The person that had it before me had RES in it. She let them go in the canal . Yeah I B*** at her fo rit. anyways the tank has that hard white water stains on it. How do I get that off? I washed the tank with dawn dish soap and gonna hit it with diluted bleach later on. I'm just gonna use the tank for a snake. I know the tank can't really hold water so I was a little confused when she told me she had RES in it. So can anyone help.

Vinger and newspaper will help get the hard water spots off. Not sure what RES are

Depends how bad the etching from the water it. It may never come "off". I have a couple tanks that use to be my African cichlid tanks. They came out well enough but you can still see the etching at certain angles and you can't take pictures though them with out seeing the scratches and spots. But I used CLR to scrub them up and washed them out real good to makes sure all of the chemical is out. Then once they were dry I wiped them down with windex or vinegar and water.

Here is an example. This was one of my tanks and even though all of the hard water spots are gone the etching has been done. You see the picture looks blurry. It actually isn't, that is the glass. From a distance it looks beautiful though.

You can also use a razor blade and then wash off with windex.
