I have a quick question concerning heat. During the day, my tank is about 80-84 degress, and at night around 70. I am worried about keeping him warmer at night, because I think 70 is too low. I live in the downstairs portion of my house, so it is a little cooler. Heck, even during the day shouldnt it be warmer? I have a heat pad, and basking light goin during the day, and just the pad at night. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to keep it warmer? Or is it okay as is :p I just get so worried because I have never really had a reptile before. I usually tend to stick to fur and feathers because thats all my family ever had :)

Where is your thermometer? Unless the thermometer is right on top of the substrate, it will show a lower temperature than what is on the substrate. Ideally corns should have a temperature gradient. One side of the tank should be about 85 or so during the day, and the other side about 75. Let it cool down a bit at night, but there should still be a gradient. 70 is alright, but you can let your corn choose between 70 and 75, maybe.

erm, i'm new, dont hate me, just an idea

just a lil suggestion, mayve you got too much substrate over your heat mat if you have it under your tank, this'd stop heat from radiating through
