wut should i do.
will it break off as he grows or wut

take a couple of paper towels and soak them in luke warm water. Pick up your snake and wrap him in your paper towels, and hold with firm pressure. While the snake slithers through the wet paper towels the skin should come off.

you don't ever want to leave unshed skin on a snake. it can cause tail rot and can dehydrate the snake and cause death. It would be ok for a day or two, but don't leave it there for very long.

You can also try increasing the humidity in the tank for a day and see what happens. My snake had a bad shed right before I bought him and since I had just made the substrate, it was still slightly damp when I put him in the tank. 2 days later, he shed the remaining skin.

Mist the tank several times a day, or add a container with damp paper towels (or something of the like) and place it on the warm side.

Whatever you do though, don't "peel" the skin off. It can cause some serious damage to the skin/scales underneath.

another option...

that would be less strenuous for you and the snake is to take a small tupperware container or kritter keeper cage and put some moss in it, spray the moss, place the snake in the container and then the container in the viv. within a few hours all the skin should be off your snake.

if you go with the paper towel idea i would recommend that you soak the snake before you attempt to remove the remaining skin with a paper towel. i have found that using a wet paper towel followed by a dry one is the most successful way to do it, just be gentle, it's not a difficult task. if a little skin remains on the tail use a wet paper towel and carefully roll it or allow the snake to work it's way through it again.

Thanks a lot :D :D the paper towel idea was awsome! it worked after like the 5th time going through lol thing is it was kinda hard to tell if the skin was off all the way cause he has darker coloring like half way to the tail
:crazy02: :crazy02: :crazy02: :santa:

o i also put the towels in the tank (new 1ns) just incase he didnt get it all off
just to be safe
