Theo is eventually showing signs of shedding😂 I'm so excited !!!! We brought him home on 31/12/14 unfortunately there were no shedding records from info we got he hatched aug14 but since getting him home Hogmany he has yet to shed.I have fried my brain reading up on this.So this afternoon Theo was out and about ,he dosent look different maybe a bit duller but his eyes look like they got milk in them !!!! Is this it ???😀 xxx We gave him a little soak he chooses to bathe when I put in dish of tepid water so fingers crossed in a few days we eventually get our first shed.He is due to eat tomorrow if eyes still milky I'm going to skip feeding .

Even if his eyes are not milky tomorrow, I wouldn't feed until he sheds - which will probably be a couple of days after his eyes go back to normal.

Ok great thank you,I never thought his first shed was coming .I'm feeling like a bad snake momma,he is yet to shed and is still on pinkies as regurge making me very nervous about moving up to fuzzies

So no progress yet😱 Theo not moved from hot hide his eyes have turned a bright blue colour though ,how much longer ?

cautious

I'm sure it's ok to feed but I'm going to wait till he has shed. It's hard work for him so don't want to add to workload by asking him to digest too 😂 I'm just so happy 15 weeks today since we brought him home and he yet to shed !!!!

Good luck on Theo's shed! He should be fine holding off eating. Mine seem to want to be left alone and hide around then so I just follow their lead.

Thanks ,like I said it's a first for us 😨 but yeah he does seem to be in hiding in his hot hide .I'm really nervous we get a bad shed as its been so long but suppose silly to worry about what's not happened !! His eyes seem to look normal again today but still in hiding 🙊 come on Theo xxx

Don't worry. Mojo had a real bad shed when I first got her. A little soak and some moist paper towels and we were all clean and clear. I bet Theo breezes through this and you get an awesome perfect skin to admire.

I got a bad shed my first time out. It was in three pieces. There were two large body pieces that were complete, but the tail stuck. I found the shed in the morning. I also found my snake in his humid, shedding hide, and when he came out the tail was shed in one last piece.

Bad sheds are one of the easier things to take care of. If Theo does have a bad shed just do the soak and towel thing and Theo will be fine. If you are concerned pre-shed, just provide him with a humid hide.

so much support I love it

This site is so fantastic the support towards newbies is brilliant 😀 I have a humid hide in and he has had a few baths last week.I just put a little tub in with just warm water and he jumps straight in I think he is a water baby 😂 I won't whine about anymore worries until of course they actually happen 😂 still nothing today but his eyes are black again so fingers crossed

At last!!!!!!!!!

Woke up this morning to a beautiful complete shed ,eye holes and tail tip intact
I'm so happy ,we got something right .He must be starving as that's 10 days without food so I'm tempted to try 2 pinkies this evening ,gonna get accurate weight on him later before I feed him ,any advice on this would be great

He is 22g now so going by Munson plan he should be on 2large pinkies but we are a little behind because of regurge so I'm thinking 2small pinkie to see how he copes with that ?

Congrats on the beautiful shed. I know you were very concerned and I'm so happy it was a complete shed!

Thank you ,I now know what I'm looking for so our next shed shouldn't be stressful just hope it's as good !!!

I would go with one small... if he had one regurge don't push it at all.. when was the regurge? they need to wait 2 weeks before eating minimum and then you start small and build up... if your rush it and he regurges again you run a risk of him getting really sick..

Sorry I didn't explain myself ,Theo regurged on 12th Feb we starved him 8 days then followed strict regurge diet offered by another member😉 he only moved from half pinkie to full on 6th March changing from 7 days to every five ,so since regurge he has had 3 half pinkies and 7 full pinkies . I think because of regurge he is behind in feeding but as you said didn't want to rush things after his ordeal. I gave him 2small pinkies last night and he striked for first and I left second in viv on kitchen roll he munched it within 5minutes of finishing first ,no signs of regurge this morning 😀 hope I have done right thing x

It sounds like you're really doing well with little Theo. I'm glad his shed went well. Nightmare has only had one shed since he got here, (about a little more than a month after you got Theo) and I was nervous too, but it went very well. Nightmare didn't soak in his water dish, or at least not that we saw, but he has a little Tupperware with a small entrance hole, that we keep some wet moss in. He seems to enjoy it. :)
