Just looking for a recommendation on a thermometer preferably with a probe sensor. The current IR thermometer I have apparently reads about 5-6 degrees cooler than my thermostat probe is reading and I'm wanting to get an accurate read. I assume my VE-100 isn't the problem so I think the sensor in my thermometer is rather poor quality as it was only around $8-$10. Looking at maybe $20-$30 range for a recommendation.

I was looking more for a handheld so it can be moved from tank to tank but I really like that thermometer with its probe and everything it looks similair in design to most digital thermostat readings.

Der shoot, I didn't see that you were looking for a hand held, sorry. I've never used one like that so don't have any recommendations. I like the one I linked b/c you put the probe on the hot side and the unit on the cool and then you know what the readings are for the tank. It also shows humidity. Pretty good for $13....
