Thermostat question

Ok so my birthday is coming and my dad told me he would buy me the thermostat I wanted for it. The thermostat I want to get is the Helix DBS1000. I hear this is a good thermostat, is that correct? Also I know that they have up to like 2 outlets for 2 heating pads, is this correct? And also, When the have 2 outlets, they only have one probe, so how do you probe both of them? I have one snake right now, but plan on getting a 2nd one. He is also getting me a Infrared Temperature Gun, its a special on llreptile.com. that good as well? Sorry for so many questions, just want to make sure I'm getting all the info I need before I have him buy it.

So as a summery,
Is it a good thermostat?
It does go up to 2 outlets for 2 UTH right?
How do I probe both tanks if it has only one probe?
Is the Infrared Temp Gun good?
