My first snake in over 20 years. He's an Abbott's Okeetee. I've had him for about a month now, and will enjoy watching him get his colors as he grows up! Right now he's at 14 inches.

Yes I did. Lee said I got the first pick of his current hatchlings. I had been in contact with him since mid May. I just fell in love with the bold black lines and rich colors with Lee's Okeetees. Had to have one, if you know what I mean.

Nice! She looks just like mine did when I got her last year. They say the dark ones grow up to be more colorful.

Here's mine at almost a year old:

I got mine from Lee as well. may be brothers. Did he tell you the parents?

That has to be the best Corn Snake name I've ever heard!
Your snake is a beauty for sure.........just crazy how much they change as they grow up.

Goldtop: I was going to ask you the same question. If so, it will be interessting to watch these two grow up this year. Yes, Lee did pass on the parents to me. The father was "T" and the mother was "D." How about yours?

I'm curious how often you feed yours? I'm feeding Kernel one small pinky every 5 days. You can't really even see any bump the next day. Up until last Sunday, Kernel would wake up from his daily nap and begin exploring the day after he ate. The only time he would hide during the evening or night was the day he was fed. I fed him last Saturday and he slept on top of the bedding for a couple of days. He has since gone into hiding. Kinda strange, but I'm hoping that he is getting ready to shed. He has plenty of fresh water and the temps on top of the substrate are averaging about 80 degrees at night, and 85 degrees during the day. He shed a few days before Lee shipped him May 27th. Otherwise, he may not feel too good and that would worry me. We will see in a few days.

Get a scale, and roughly follow this:
Munson Plan
-Single pinks (2-3g) every 4-5 days. (Snake = 4-15g)
-Double pinks (3g x 2) every 4-5 days. (Snake = 16-23g)
-Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 24-30g)
-Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 30-50g)
-Hoppers (9-12g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 51-90g)
-Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
-Adult (24-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170 )
-Jumbo Adults (40-50g) every 7-x days (Snake = 400g )

I haven't posted in awhile, but here are some pictures taken around July 4th and then today, August 23rd. Kernel's color continues to come in slowly.
