Thought I'd share this

RedRaydin

Jason DeFreitas
So I'm in my room two nights ago laying down with the cats on the bed. Raydin decides he will make an appearance and dance his way up the glass viv on top of my bureau. We get a good view from the bed. Well, he runs his body all the way up the viv so you can see his ventral and hes running his nose over the lid when all of a sudden he runs too far sideways and his whole body falls and smacks onto the ground. I heard a dull thud. But he went along with his bussiness and started crawling over the fake leaves and over his hides just fine. At first I was worried and thought he may be hurt. But he constricted his two big fuzzies yesterday no prob yet again. Guess he's ok. I guess when your all muscle it doesn't hurt as bad taking a plunge like that huh? Crazy stuff. Any one else's corns decide they like to be superman every once in a while?

He's just fine, I watch a lot of my snakes do the same thing. Most snakes know their own limits, so I usually dont worry too much about things they get themselves into in their enclosures.

Ype, mine do it too, especially my king snake. He is almost 3 years old, and if he hasn't knocked himself silly by now, I figure he'll be ok.

Same here, my corn tries to go that 1 inch further up the glass and "THUD" however he usually gets straight back up and trying another escape route asap.

Makes me cringe somtimes but they are alot tougher than they look.

When I had my snake in the bedroom I would often hear a "Thud" in the middle of the night.

I have a nightmare teenager who lives next door so the first time I heard it I thought he was up to something so I got up and had a quick look around outside (well, he did set fire to the garage under my bedroom one day while I was at work so I liked to keep an eye on him). No-one around so I went back to bed. A few nights later, the same noise but also with an added "Splash". Turned on the light, looked in the viv, and there was Milenko half upside down looking slightly embarrassed in her water bowl :grin01:

So I guess, what doesn't hurt them only makes them stronger, lol.

hahahah! My Nibbs does the same thing. I awoke to it one night glanced over and chuckled to myself. Its fun to watch him scale the glass and learn how gravity affects him. Climb, climb, climb/tilt, tilt...THUD!

The other night I thought Blaze had gotten out. He's in quarantine right now (mite issue, grrrr!), so he doesn't have anything to climb on. I went in to check on him and didn't see him, so I lifted up the lid to his tank (it's a split lid, so I only have to lift one side) and freaked out when I didn't see him. I took the paper towel and water dish out and still didn't see him. Right before I started to rip apart the entire house I saw him on the other side of the tank lid. He had climbed the side of the tank onto the little "ledge" between the screen and tank. Little guy sure gave me a scare!

Dante does this too, even after I built him a nice little vine structure he, for some reason, feels the need to try and climb the glass instead. Snakes are crazy! lol
