Three lucky ladies...

Ok guys, I've got a question for you all out there...

I just had my last two snakes sexed and it turns out I am the happy owner of three female corn snakes! This kind of puts a kink in my breeding, as you can imagine.

So what's there to do? Buy a male corn! Of course!

I plan on buying 1 (one) corn snake to "service" all three of my females and I want your suggestions as to what male morph of corn I should use. Here are the ladies...

"Gracie" - Hypomel Snow
"Nip" - Amel het Anery
"Ice Pick" - Charcoal

Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Man, too many choices and options hehe...but my straight off the cuff choice

Anery Bloodred AKA the Pepper Corn

X Gracie: Anery A's het snow, ghost and *bloodred

X Nip: Het snow *bloodreds and anery A's het amel bloodreds

X Icepick: het anery A and B, *bloodred

* bloodred tends to express itself in het animals to certain degrees

Most of your hatchlings will have that little bit of bloodred expression to make them look just a bit different than the norm...just an idea out of many, and every year something new pops up...

Wowzers

I knew I should pop the question here... My knowledge of clours and morphs is limited. You wouldn't have a pic of this type of corn would you? Thanks again!

EDIT: I've been using Mick's progeny predictor to try and see your predictions, but it's coming out with mostly normals and hets different than your's... am I doing something wrong?

If you got a ghost het charcoal and amel, you would have pretty much have all 3 of the females' genes covered. You would get snows, amels, anerys, charcoals, ghosts and a few hets.

cornsnake.net/gallery/gallery.php3?id=57 is a link to a pic of one of Don S.'s from South Mountain Reptiles...dont know why you'd be getting all normals from Micks progeny predictor...maybe putting the wrong info in?

try Homozygous Anery A bloodred X Homozygous amel hetero. anery A (Nippy)
" " " " X Homozygous Charcoal (Icepick)
" " " " X Homozygous Hypo, amel and Anery A (Gracie)

Cka, you are right... don't know what I was putting in before.

I've checked out some of these pewters and they're really cool, very dark.

I like Jynx's too, we would get tons of variety. But something appeals to me with using these blood reds.

What else could we try?

I've been doing more figuring and I think I really want to go with the Pewter "Pepper" Corn morph with my ladies... But I am curious to know what the stipped trait and the bloodred trait do when paired together?

Would it simply bleed into the ventrical (tummy) area and create a nice uniform colouring on the back?

I am very curious to see this morph if ANYBODY has a pick! 8-P Thanks!
