three weeks ago from tomorrow, one of my mice gave birth to her first litter. i heard some faint sqeeking tonight and noticed that she is giving birth again. not even three full weeks. wierd, the other female still hasn't gotten pregnant yet, maybe she's just infertile. she helps take care of the babies though.

That is quick...

I have a mouse that I am expecting a litter from hopefully tonight, but definately sometime this week. Then two more seem to be getting 'fatter.' None of mine have had a litter yet, but I haven't had them too long. The other female hasn't shown any sign of pregnancy yet.

15 babies isn't too bad for a second litter. there first was only 8. It's really cute that one of the 3 week old females from the first litter was sitting ontop of the mound of newborns as if she was feeding them. is that possible? can a 3 week old mouse produce milk, or is she just imitating the adults like they do w/ almost everything else?

Likely its imitative behavior or instinct, I don't think they are lactating by that point. My mice do the same thing :)

thanx, thats what i figured. I've always hated mice because they always invaded apartments that I've lived in, but I'm actually finding them to be really cute, and have started finding it hard to feed them off. They are very cute at 2-3 weeks old.
