Tip of tail came off

For the past few sheds the shed on the tip of my corns tail wouldn't come off. I had tried to get it off numerous times but not enough because it looks like the tip of his tail came off. It's a little bit red and I don't know if I should be worried or what I should do.

Not much you can do. You can put paper towels in his tank so he doesn't get anything in it and you can apply triple antibiotic ointment. Make sure it is the ointment with NO pain medication in it.

It will die and fall off. Just leave it alone and it will heal. You could move the snake on paper towel only for substrate and put original neosporin on it if you are worried about it getting infected. Just make sure it has no painkillers in it.

Also to get stuck shed on the off I put my snake in a plastic tub with wet towels or a wash cloth depending on the size of the snake (use room temperature or luke warm water). After they have soaked for around 20 or 30 minutes if the skin hasn't come off by then, it will be softened up. I will take a corner of the wet towel and let the snake slither through it putting a little pressure on it to help pull the skin off.

Never try pulling the skin off while it is dry.

I know the damage has already been done but you need to know the info above for the future so it doesn't happen again. Now that the tail is damaged the snake may still have trouble shedding the tail tip.
I have two snakes that I got with their tails already damaged and I had to help get the skin off their tail for a year before it was healed enough to come off on it's own. But their tails were in pretty bad shape with several layers of stuck shed.

Always check for stuck skin after each shed. Tail tips and eye caps are the easiest to miss.
