Tis the season to escape?

I haven't had an escape in years, not since I tightened security. But today I go to feed the juvie females and check on the juvies/adults fasting for brumation and my butter juvie girl is missing from her locked up 20L. I tear the place apart, I swear again to build a dedicated reptile room so they're not too openly connected to the rest of the building, I gather up plastic bottles for traps to bait with fuzzies tonight.

I come back a little later and what's in one of the unbaited traps? My juvie bloodred. He's escaped from the rack system.

He's BACK in the rack system, locks and lids double checked, additional bungee cords added, and everyone else has been triple checked and more clips added.

Now to hope my girl finds the bottles as attractive as he did!

Well, discovered how the bloodred escaped. I recently purchased more tubs to add to rotation and they don't lock down as securely and need extra bungees. I had forgotten he was in a new one.

Well, was a good incentive to get everyone in the rack into cold storage and locked down tight for the winter. And get a new rack by spring.

HaHa that is too funny. My corn isn't good at the escaping part, but my python is a lot better. But out of all his choices, he prefers the open space behind my tv.

I will say they don't have to be in their enclosures to escape either. They are really crafty.

The other night I had my baby in my hand. I was just cruising the Internet and got distracted for a few minutes. Next thing I knew, no snake in my hand! I freaked out. Luckily I found her quickly; she was wrapped around the wires of my computer behind the desk but she traveled quite a distance in a short amount of time! You cannot keep your eyes off them for a second!
