To all the English on here…

Oh ok....that is not quite as bad as soccer for blood boiling. Actually though it is not a bad game to watch for a short time....Just could never figure out all the rules.

Cricket's rubbish. It's the only sport where a beer belly isn't an automatic disqualification from competition*. Grown men standing in a field while nothing much happens, with lots more grown men watching. Yawn.

*Please note: Darts is not a sport.

wow -

Cricket is one of the best sports in the world.

Lets compare to some other sports shall we.
1. It doesn't mislead you in any way. Like American Football played with hands?
2. It features a world cup that includes teams from around the world. World Series Baseball?

Bitsy -I don't know what to say to you. Where in the UK are you from?

I'm Welsh so I can answer one of your questions...
There are so many S.Africans in the team because England cheat... LOL
The new English rules are... If your Grandma had a dog that had English blood, it's enough of a connection to make you English...
I know because Wales uses the same rules in Rugby...
Hence the Welsh Maori's we have fielded.... LMAO.

South Coast. Not sure that has much bearing on the situation really. I suspect a lot of women are mystified about the "game" being so fascinating for the male of the species. Other than as an excuse to escape the wife and kids for a few hours and drink beer with their mates.

I'm no fan of soccer or rugby (also played with hands) but at least the participants move about regularly, so I can see their merit as spectator sports for those who are enthused by such things.

Gimme rugby or soccer over cricket, American football, or baseball ANY day! Cricket just makes me fall asleep. Or would, if I actually watched it for more than 15 minutes.

I really can't watch sports. It doesn't do anything for me, and only makes the people who I have seen watch it, angry.

I have to admit I have never watched cricket, nor know much about it. (That was a wicked googly!) I do like soccer and American football though. Not a fan of baseball.

I watched the whole game, in the end we (England) were lucky to get the draw..
should have won it a mile out though really...
just shows ya, anyone can win this.
as much as I hate to say it, and I really do... but, the Aussies look great at the moment.
Plenty of time for them to lose form though lol, the final isnt for about 6 weeks.

Wow -And here I thought I barked up the wrong forest with this thread. I'm hoping for South Africa, but deep down it feels like we'll just stumble a stupid hurdle again.

hehe- It's actually not so bad - but we like to annoy the ex-pats here. Especially Pietersen - not because he was South African, but because he's a big baby with huge buttons to push :D

well it really could be any number of teams..
I reckon you cant write the aussies off.
sri lanka have a good shout at home, although india must really be the favourites.
SA are a tough team to beat in any sport.
Englnad, realistically are an outside shot by a long way.
The Windies, i love to watch, very entertaining, but simply not good enough to win the whole thing.
Pakistan I dont think will figure, although great win over Sri lanka.
The rest are really there to make up the numbers... well I suppose NZ on their day are a decent side, have a couple of good players, i like watching vettori and mccullum, brendan I think (the good one either way lol)

well, somehow we lost to ireland.. great performance though from the Irish...
how about this game on now mate??? England all out for 170 odd, now SA are around 135-7...
you should still make it, but it could be clos.e
