my female corn recently escaped followed by one baby not long after. I have now tightened up the security and want to introduce a new female to my male. Before the escape they lived happily together but now the male has been alone for a while i am worried about mistakenly putting a male in with him.My brother has a large docile corn which i think could be a female and i would like them to bread. I bread my snakes for the first time this year and to be honest ,thought they were fighting instead of getting it on.If i have it wrong will two males fight and how do i know instantly before either one gets hurt?
 
Two males could fight, in fact any two corns together *could* fight. Most books and experienced herpers recommend you keep your snakes singly to reduce the amount of stress that could be caused by housing together. I wasn't sure if you were asking about introducing a pair to breed or to house together btw.

If two males are fighting, the biting would be more 'chompy' and viscious than the 'love bites' you would assosciate with mating behaviour. Best bet is to have your snakes probed so you know for sure what sex they are.
