Type of heating for a wooden cage?

Hi everyone!

I was just looking for some reccomendations for a heat pad to use in a wooden cage.

I was leaning toward the cobra heat mat--maybe the 30-40 gallon size?

It would have to be in the tank, so I was thinking of attatching it to the bottom and siliconing a piece of plexiglass above it so the snake cannot touch it?

Any suggestions? I just picked this girl up this weekend and all she had in her tank was a tiny heat rock.. I can't stand it!!;)

In case it's important, the cage is 40 w x 30 t x 18 d

Thanks all!!:D

Hello, heat mats are great for wooden vivs. I don't really know what size you mean but it should cover about a third of the floor- maybe a tad more.

Yeah, it's important your snake can't touch it. Whatever you do to stop this, make sure enough heat gets through.

If the wood is not too thick and the heat pad puts out enough heat, you could try putting it underneath the cage.
