Use of LEDs for lighting

Does anyone have any experience using LEDs to light their vivariums?

(of course I'm thinking of illumination alone, as LEDs provide no heat)

I'm thinking that I'd like to have a string of red LEDs for night viewing and white LEDs for day viewing.

Advantages being energy efficiency over normal incandescent bulbs and also the fact that it wouldn't interfere with my other heating systems and thus could place them around the upper perimeter of the viv.

Throughts?

I dont see any problems other than how you wire them, they dont kick out much light anyway if your talking about normal led's, the ultra bright ones may be too bright .i.e the new ones you get in torches and stuff . led's only use low DC current and you need to check what power supply your using to make sure the led's don't overheat or they drag too much power from the supply and overheat. But for ambient light normal led's great idea.
