UTH under Wood Cage

[-ShoRty-]

Hatchling Mauritius
Hey guys I'm currently using a uth under my wooden cage and the thermometer is Reading 110 F and both my thermostat's I've bought new are not turning the heat down although it did feel a lot less warm but my thermometer still reads 109-111 region

is there anything i can do?? i know the tile trick but i don't have a tile that big :sobstory:

at the moment she has a large log that goes from the hot to cool side

but I'd still like to get to the bottom of this.

could it be a dodgy thermometer?? i paid £20 for it digital one from a pet store i was robbed i know but hey i needed one at the time....

any ideas??

no lights at all, i wanted to use a night light that gives no heat but I'm still waiting on it.

i think it maybe OK now i turned the thermostat right down last night and i woke up this morning and it was 72 F so i turned it up to 80 F see what happens

It takes a bit to get the thermostat dialed in, especially if it's just a cheap on/off type. If it doesn't do the trick, I put a layer of folded newspaper that insulates beautifully and looks fine when I cover it with aspen.
