Veruca (Stimsoni) outside

Lolo

Surrounded by snakes
My Stimson's Python (Antaresia Stimsoni) Veruca has these amazing eyes, which only photograph well in natural lighting... she will also strike at a camera flash, so I try to avoid that as much as possible. Anyway, she was being all restless today, so I took her outside for some modeling - here are the results, before my camera died ~10 minutes into the shoot. I do like this camera (Panasonic Lumix), but it has LOUSY battery life!

The only halfway decent grass shot - she was moving FAST on it!

Thanks! And if I must say so myself, I agree... she's truly unique, and I can't WAIT to breed her. :) She's doing great, btw, eating f/t mice like there's no tomorrow - still a bit jumpy, but getting more & more used to handling.

wow awesome stimson!!! i got a couple of these mini pythons and i lovem!!

Thank you! Aren't they great little snakes? My male (James) isn't so "little," at nearly 800g... but he's a lovable moose, and I really enjoy having both of them in my collection. I also have a pair of Spotteds, who aren't quite as flashy but have very nice temperaments.

well i have 1.0 spotted/granite, 0.1 spotted and a 1.1 pair of childrens...they are a little nippy at times but i luv them and their look......also how compact they are....lol....if i had space i would get a pair of these 2!!! lol

I'd definitely recommend a pair of these, if you did have the space... Veruca currently lives in a 15qt tub (and James is in a 41qt), so they don't take up too much room! ;) The girl is a little nippy/jumpy, but the boy is like a limp noodle - not even the least bit head-shy, and loves to wrap himself in my hair. Weirdo.

are u planing on breeding these guys? cuz if u do i and i make the space.....i mite just buy a pair from u!!!:)

Yes, I am... whenever she's big enough, which will hopefully be next season (2011-2012). I'll keep you in mind if/when I have babies! :)

That is one gorgeous snake! I love the eyes. I've never even heard of these pythons so had to go google them. How cool that they stay relatively small!

I love these little pythons. I have a spotted and she is so calm, I love her! I just got mine at Daytona this year after eyeing them for a few years. I am so glad I did.

Your girl is gorgeous! I love the eyes :)

Thank you both! I didn't know anything about them either, until a guy I know offered me the male (James)... he's a local guy who was just trying to downsize, and I'd bought snakes from him before. He said they were easy to keep, so I said why not? James was so cool I decided to get another, and found Veruca at the San Diego show in June - love at first sight! :)
