Vitamins for corns?

I was wondering if anyone uses or suggests using vitamin supplements for corns. I have a hatchling corn and have been using a carnivore vitamin supplement. The snake doesn't seem to mind it. I give it this supplement about once a week. I usually spray it on the pinky. Should I continue to give it a vitamin supplement?

It is not necessary to give vitamins to snakes. They get all they need from the food they eat. I would stop using the vitamin spray--or at least reduce the use severely. Too much of some vitamins can be harmful.

Covering your butt on that one. Huh. :grin01:

A dusting once a month shouldn't hurt, but I haven't read anything to prove either way that it helps.

And I just finish my second cup. :crazy02:

Mice are a 'whole food' there is a balance of vitamin and mineral that your snake has adapted to through the history of the breed, in my opinion, to supplement some and not all of the nutrients in it's food does the opposite of what you are intending, it reduces the proportion of what's not in the supplement. that can be dangerous too!
supplements are a good thing, if your vet notices your animal is lacking in some vitamins, and you need to increase the proportion, but in a healthy animal, who is eating it's historically natural diet, it's not a great idea,,,in my opinion.

I don't supplement at all anymore. I haven't seen a bit of difference in growth rates since I stopped, and some snakes actually seem to be doing better without supplements.

You know it!

Actually I was thinking that, while some vitamins are water soluble and any excess will be peed out, others will build up in the tissues until toxic levels are reached. If excess amounts are given, that is.
